Harnessing the Power of Musculoskeletal Ultrasound and Integrative Pain Medicine to Help Provide Lasting Relief from Chronic Musculoskeletal Pain

In the hands of a trained musculoskeletal specialist, musculoskeletal ultrasound is a powerful diagnostic tool. Patricia Delzell, M.D., and Advanced Musculoskeletal Medicine Consultants (AMMC) use leading-edge diagnostic and treatment techniques in musculoskeletal ultrasound with the most advanced equipment as one link in providing lasting relief from chronic musculoskeletal pain.

Dr. Delzell is a specialist in musculoskeletal ultrasound and in the integrative treatment of chronic musculoskeletal pain. She is fellowship-trained in cross-sectional imaging and integrative medicine. She is trained to administer therapeutic injections under ultrasound guidance, which have been proven to improve efficacy for treating pain and improving patient outcomes in conjunction with complementary treatments. Through caregiver referrals, we work with each patient to design a treatment plan addressing their individual needs and goals using diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound solutions on a scaffolding of an integrative clinical approach.

When treatment plans are followed, Dr. Delzell has a greater than 80% success rate with long-term relief of 1 year or greater.

Active Research Studies

As a primarily referral practice, we recognize the importance of keeping referring physicians and other medical caregivers informed of the diagnosis and treatment plans we develop for their patients. We work closely with our referrers to ensure they receive the proposed treatment plans and additional follow up assessments so patients receive the best possible ongoing care.

AMMC uses the latest Siemens ACUSON Sequoia™ ultrasound system for diagnostic ultrasound and ultrasound-guided treatment. ACUSON Sequoia is an industry benchmark for image quality, color sensitivity and advanced imaging modes. In fact, Dr. Delzell served as a consultant for the development of the MSK-specific software recently released for the  ACUSON Sequoia.
